Heart Murmur is one of a few traverses that cut across Rattlesnake Canyon in Sage Hills. It is most often ridden north to south because it has a few short, steep stretches but can be ridden the opposite way by stronger riders. This is not a beginner trail as there are a few stretches of exposure and one corner that requires intermediate riding skills to navigate. The descent can be rutted and tricky but if you're an intermediate to advanced rider then this is a fun, technical trail. It's often used as a way to get directly to Coyote Canyon without having to climb up Lower Lightning, which can be very rutted.

This trail is a challenge going up because it has short and steep punchy sections, but it was fun both directions.

I came down Heart Murmur and it was just fine. I little narrow and rutted, definitely not for beginners. I would have enjoyed going up this...
