This trail is a spur off of Gull Rock trail. It leads trough berry-covered forest and offers impressive views of Resurrection Creek Valley. This trail is steep right out of the gate. Be prepared for a good mix of steep technical climbing and hike-a-bike. The trail is a popular hiking trail so please be careful when on the decent.

This trail is not closed to bikes. The sign mentioned above was put in illegally. Remember to yield to hikers and ride in control.

Thanks for the info Seth. Glad I checked here before heading over there. Big bummer, that was on my tick list this year.

Yup, I have been looking into this issue as well. The group on Facebook Alaska Mountain Bike Group has been having this discussion for a while now. A sign went in by a Forrest Service Ranger and a photo has been taken from the Facebook Group "Hiking in Alaska" The trail status will now reflect that amendment by USFS.

The words from the Seward District Ranger on this are: "It is NOT illegal to ride horse or bikes on the trail. Bikes are not recommended because of the steepness and safety of bikes on that trail. At this time, I am not seeking a Forest Order. Give me a call if you have any questions."-Francisco B. Sanchez. The sign was not put up by the USFS.
