This trail follows the path of the historic K&S Railroad. It can be ridden from the Three Forks end (steep climb) or the preferred Sandon trailhead at the replica railroad station. From Sandon, the first couple of kilometers are very easy family friendly. The trail gets interesting as you cross the bridge at Payne Creek where it turns from a green rating to blue. The trail becomes rolling as you ride in and out of creek crossings and traverse tailings slopes. There are historical markers and mountain views along the way. The trail finishes with a fast 2 km descent to Three Forks.
