I thought I would add a review from a female intermediate rider, as sometimes reviews from guys may not represent how I would view this trail. This first mile of this trail is flowy and fast: The rest is techy rock and some sketch drops…that I just walked down. There were many spots I had to scope out, and many spots that didn’t seem worth the risk. Most scary 6+ foot drops had alternative ride around. As a solid intermediate rider I would say this is mostly a Moab blue with double black features that were out of my league.

Favorite section of spinal tap. Great mix of flow and tech. I don’t know what the user rating double black is about. Sure there are a few optional 4-6 ft drops (some to flat) but nothing really unavoidable. For reference my girlfriend who only has been riding a year only needed to walk one section.

Spinal tap is one of the best trails in the state. If you ride Richfield and don't ride this trail you missed a jem. It is a black trail, you wouldn't want to send an intermediate rider down this trail. There are a couple of double black features but all of them have bypass routes. Go ride this trail, you will understand that pusspuss...is not a credible source.

We hope you've been enjoying Trailforks!
