The Murkwood Loop is a narrow singletrack nature trail offering stunning views of Scorton Creek and the adjacent marsh. This trail is moderately overgrown, but the scenery more than compensates for the journey. There are a few bridges that cross over ditches created for mosquito control in the last century. At the midpoint of this hike, near the northern tip of the land, trail users can travel on a well-used footpath to a marsh island, where a plaque describes a former location of a historic home built more than a century ago. This footpath is inaccessible at high tide.
