È il percorso di accesso alla Vedretta del Mandron e al Rifugio Ai Caduti dell'Adamello; si svolge in un pregevole ambiente d'alta montagna, che presenta peculiari caratteristiche sia naturali, con laghi, ghiacciai e cime elevate, che storiche, per gli eventi della guerra 1915-18. Fa parte dell'Itinerario glaciologico Vigilio Marchetti. Dal Rifugio Mandron "Città di Trento" un comodo sentiero scende in breve ai sottostanti laghetti glaciali del Mandron ondulando poi per tratti paludosi, rocce montonate e spiazzi erbosi, passando accanto al lago del Madrone fino al terrazzo dal quale si domina il Lago Nuovo in cui si gettano le acque del Ghiacciaio dell'Adamello. Si continua per raggiungere la vecchia morena laterale del ghiacciaio, dove ora si gira nettamente a sinistra, e con leggera pendenza, su rocce granitiche levigate si arriva alla passerella. La si attraversa per dirigersi a destra verso la Vedretta del Mandron, fino al bordo del ghiacciaio. Qui inizia il tracciato alpinistico di accesso al Rifugio Ai Caduti dell'Adamello; il proseguire, per qualsiasi destinazione, richiede l'attrezzatura e la preparazione necessarie per ascensioni d'alta montagna.
