La via ferrata del Mataròt, pur non presentando grandi difficoltà tecniche, è però piuttosto impegnativa per la severità dell'ambiente in cui si sviluppa e per il notevole dislivello affrontato. Costituisce la via più diretta per raggiungere il Passo della Lobbia e il Rifugio ai Caduti dell'Adamello. Un percorso di indubbio fascino che consente di passare dal verde fondovalle al biancore dei ghiacciai. Dal ponte antistante il Rifugio Adamello Collini al Bédole (vedi itinerario 212) si imbocca la strada che porta in una decina di minuti alla teleferica del Rifugio Mandron. Qui inizia il nostro sentiero che si inoltra nella Valle del Mataròt, giungendo in breve nei pressi dell'ex Malga Mataròt Bassa. Attraversato il ponte sul Sarca, si inizia a salire lungo la sx or. della valle, prima agevolmente poi fra umidi sassi e gradoni. Usciti su terreno aperto si risale con strette serpentine fino alla base del salto roccioso dal quale precipita sulla sx la grande Cascata del Mataròt. Aiutati da funi metalliche e staffe, si sale lungamente su liscie placche, paretine e strette cenge, per continuare la salita, su terreno meno ripido, guidati dai segni bianco rossi e da frequenti ometti. Sulla nostra sx si apre la Vedretta della Lobbia che si rimonta alzandosi a lato, su terreno morenico; aggirato il marcato costone SE della Cima Lobbia Alta, si volge ad O abbassandosi leggermente nel lembo di ghiacciaio sottostante il Passo della Lobbia Alta. Lo si attraversa facilmente e si risale fino all'ampio valico dove appare, a pochi minuti di distanza, il Rifugio ai Caduti dell'Adamello, abbarbicato sul fianco meridionale della Lobbia Alta, a dominare il vasto ghiacciaio ­dell'Adamello.
