Packer Trail

FYI! The River Canyon Trail and Packer Trail in Tsutswecw Provincial Park (formerly Rodrick Haig-Brown Provincial Park) Adams River, are only rideable/hike able up to the canyon and slightly beyond. The 2023 wildfire that burnt most of the lower Adams River valley and into the Shuswap destroyed the trails and only the lower sections have been cleared of potential hazardous burnt trees.

Tom and I rode all of the trails from the main parking area down to the mouth of the Adams. Much of that area did not burn. Enjoyable, very easy riding in mature cedar and cottonwood forest. I'm very thankful that I had a number of hiking and biking trips up the entire north side of the river years ago. Makes me really appreciate all of the forested areas that we still have. Enjoy them. Take a few pictures and etch those images deep into your appreciative heart. Hopefully we never lose any more of our forests in and around the area we ride and hike.

This is quite an easy trail, definitely a workout but you are rewarded with long faster sections through some beautiful mossy forest.

Great trail for a workout. Some steep climbs. Trail has a steep drop off to one side for a while. The north end of the trail is not as wide and is a little overgrown.
