Goldmine up to the PBR cross is rough, wet, and loose - but rideable.The bridge over the creek is smooth as ice when wet - beware. At the Goldmine/PBR cross, looking up towards the PBR entrance the trail is choked full of slash and debris. PBR from that point forwards is still in good shape, although overgrown in the lower clearcut sections. | Wet | view | |

Currently the licence holders have received a road permit to build roads leading to several previously referred cutblocks. We suspect this will take a month or two to complete. Cutblocks RW004A and RW004B_Road RW4000 and RW4100 They have begun upgrades to roads RL100 and RL500 completing brushing, ditching and overall road maintenance. These roads lead to new construction roads RW4000 and RW4100. The RW4000 road gets close to the “PBR” trail but it does not cross or impact the trail. RW4000 and RW4100 lead to two small areas of harvest, RW004A and RW004B. Currently they have a permit to build road and are actively working on receiving a cutting permit. The two small harvest areas mentioned above will likely be harvested first when the cutting permit is received. Likely in mid to late February. There are no trails in the blocks but “Skidder Main” is along an old road that accesses the “Cabin Trail” that does lead to the areas of harvesst. The “Cabin Trail” will not be impacted. There is a rogue trail in the area of road RW4000, but we have not planned for mitigation works around the un-sanctioned trail. RO003 There is a harvest area called RO003 that is close to the “PBR” trail, but they purposefully buffered the trail where possible. There is a small portion of the trail that is in the harvest area of RO003 due to several dead danger trees along the trail. They retained individual large Douglas-fir trees along the trail where possible. This area requires some work with BC Hydro still and will take several weeks before development. RO001A and RO001F_Roads RO010 and RO020 This harvest area will likely be developed later than the blocks mentioned above. The roads in this area do require a lot of blasting, similar to the Kwantlen Woodlot. They have attempted to cross the trails as little as possible in order to access some of the FNWL timber. RO001A has a road (RO020) that crosses “Lower Goldmine” and “Snakes and Ladders” in order to harvest the area. The plan is to deactivate the road to the lower side of “Goldmine” post harvest. They aim to complete this in order to re-contour the road in preparation for tree planting, as we as re-habilitate the trail for future continued enjoyment. There is a bottle neck of trails in this area, and it was the only way they can reach their timber while maintaining the trail network in this area. Again, this was reviewed with RSTCA and FVMBA for feedback. The rest of “Snakes and Ladders” is for the most part retained in a large retention patch in RO001F, as well as deferred for future harvest considerations (RO001 5-15 years).
