This trail will bring you through some beautiful forest, often with grassy floors and many blueberry bushes. Parts of the trail will travel through grassy open areas where the trail is a little faint, but there are plenty of trail markers, rock cairns or cut logs to guide you on the right path. There are some steep grades, although the terrain in most places is not rocky and relatively easy. Mountain biking: The gradients are such that you will be pushing your bike for considerable sections going uphill no matter which direction you take. The open grassy sections will also add too some climbing toughness. Downhill shouldn't be a problem in either direction, from a technical perspective it's mostly intermediate with a few difficult sections. Riding the loop counter-clockwise would give you the most fun descent, as you will have mostly trail on the downhill and much less grass.
Accessed from the side of Mill Creek Rd. There are some camping areas which also double a trailhead for the Peacock Loop. There is no sign on the road, but there is one beside the creek and there is a log foot bridge across.
