Ab der Asphaltstraße zwischen Oberried und Erlenbacher Hütte startet der Trails durch steile und wurzelige Passagen, verblockte Stellen, Off‑Camber‑Kurven In den wenigen gebauten Anlieger kann man sich kurz ausruhen. Jeder Meter fordert Balance, Timing und den Mut, die richtige Linie zu wählen. Wer hier die Kontrolle behält, wird mit purer Trailaction belohnt.
Der Boden ist naturbelassen: Steine, Wurzeln, mal ein kleiner Drop – der Schädelwäg ist technisch knackig, aber gleichzeitig mega flowig, wenn man die Skills hat und die richtige Linie trifft.

Probably the most technical trail around Freiburg. But everything is visible, no hidden surprises.

I enjoyed this trail a lot. Nice combination of old-school steeps, gnarly rock gardens, and bermed corners. It was a welcome change from the heavily ridden, blown-out trails close to Freiburg. It is about a 2-hour lap from the Kirchzarten trail station. It took me about 12 minutes to descend. The last 100 meters or so of the Connector (lower) climb trail is a hike a bike which spits you out on a single-lane paved road called the Erlenbachstrasse. Next time I will stay on the paved Vörlinsbachstraße from Oberried.
