A challenging and lengthy trail that runs from near the top of windy peak down to the start of Rainbow. It's an 1800+ foot drop that crosses almost every kind of trail you can imagine. From loamy flow to hard scrabble to baby head rocks and drop offs to rock rolls to gravel and sandy grit, this trail has it all, and it is all VERY challenging
The vistas are breathtaking. On a clear day, you can see for hundreds of miles in almost every direction. As you drop into the valley, the vistas are replaced with gnar and tech that will make your bones ache. There aren't any BIG drop-offs, but there are plenty of small ones that end in rocky sections. This trail deserves its black rating.
The weather can get extremely cold and often wet. Thunderstorms do happen. Outdoor gear is recommended and riders MUST ride with care. Extraction from these areas is tough and expensive.
