Steep with lots of loose washed channels. Some people have used cairns to mark an alternate route at the top to skip the very steep spots, so this trail is broken up. A lot of hike-a-bike up, or a fun technical descent (with a smaller amount of uphill to reach the ridge from Grizzly). Seems like the way to ride this to go up Solitude, around through Grizzly, then loop back down Silver Fork to base of Solitude again. Very scenic, and lots of solitude.

Near the top are some old mines and rusted mining equipment.

The runoff from 2022-2023 winter have washed the top out section out, creating a significantly more rocky channel down much of the trail.

Definitely not a double black. This is overrated in terms of difficulty. Single black at the very most.

This trail is awesome. It reminds me of a steeper, more technical version of Mud Springs in AF Canyon.

Definitely an adventure to get here. Wouldn't say it's a better trail than Honeycomb imo, but still worth doing if you're looking for something new and appreciate steeps and tech. It is also more scenic than Honeycomb. Has a lot of potential if it saw more traffic to clean it up some and make the trail more established.

We hope you've been enjoying Trailforks!
