CYCLIST NOTES: It's fun in both directions and has a lot of nice grade reversals as you climb up the contour lines to the ridge. There's a really nice view out engineer canyon, looking out into the Salinas Valley as you climb. The trail has pretty good sight lines but is very popular with hikers and trail runners so keep on the lookout for other trail users.
