The top of the trail is through manzanita along an sandstone ridge (some of the rock has a reddish tint). Halfway down you'll transition from a machine built trail to a hand built trail as well as from brush to Oaks. Wind down through the Oaks down the hillside and finally come out at the public lands day area. Be careful for loose gravel at the entrance but then be prepared for a fun ride down. NOTE: There is a pit bathroom here if you need a break. If there is a special event going on watch for hikers
