Trail 8 is best ridden as a downhill trail and it's listed on here as its direction being downhill primarily, but it still can be ridden uphill...if your a sadists. You're climbing a mountain so the majority of this trail is going to be an uphill slog with some really, really tight and steep switchbacks thrown in. Another reason why you should not ride it uphill is for your safety. This is basically a downhill mountain bike trail where high speeds will be attained and bikes will be ripping around blind corners. With those factors present, a collision could potentially occur.
The best approach to riding Trail 8 is to ride up Huckleberry Hill gravel road, which is about 200' west of the Trail 8 entrance. Riding up Huckleberry Hill Road will add 1/2 a mile to your ride, but it's going to be so much easier on your legs.
Assuming you follow my advise and ride up Huckleberry Hill Road, at apx. mile 2.47 you will see the entrance to Trail 8 on your right. Dropping in there will reward you with a sweet, super flowy descent back down to Cedar Ridge Road. You'll be smiling from ear to ear as you carve around bermed turns, shoot through s-curves and pump through the nicely spaced rollers that are on a few of the slower sections. The ride is much like one you would experience on a blue run at a downhill bike park.
Oh, and finally a feature has been constructed on a Cedar Flats trail, the only one in the whole complex Thanks to the trail builder for putting in that high-banked "hardline" option with its little mini-jump at its entrance. Riders are going to love it!
