This segment is part of the lower Blue reroute, reconfigured to make the northern portion of the park more fun. The segment's outline resembles the front top of a turtle's shell, head, and front leg, and is encompassed within a stand of pitch pines, giving rise to its name as "Turtle Pines." Not terribly far from the parking lot, this segment is a great trail for beginners and can be ridden easily both ways. There are a few log hops, which beginners can session to hone skills. A portion of the trail narrowly traverses in between 3 sets of trees, good practice to help riders work on handlebar skills.
