The new mountain bike Rail Trail originates on the China Ridge Trail network and joins with the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR). “It has challenges, but has been built to accommodate more than just the extreme cyclists who like to shred through a course at lightening speed. Those less brave, insane and/or skilled can still maneuver the course with a bit of concentration and athleticism.” says Trail Peak.com

"This is the kind of course the rest of B.C. is missing," Whistler trail builder Duncan Mackenzie stated. "There are lots of tough courses for the real hard core bikers, but not much for anyone else." Smiling, Duncan added “This is a trail I could take my [non hard core biker] friends on. I would enjoy it and they would still be talking to me after the ride.”

The trail is an intermediate trail rated as blue. It has something for all ages. Kids and their parents can use the trail making it a great way for a family to spend a day in the great outdoors.

The trail descends down a beautiful south facing slope covered with a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees. It begins on the China Ridge Trails, meanders through a challenging course of trees, rocks, deadfalls and dips before terminating at the beautiful White Sands Beach along the Tulameen River. There is a breathtakingly beautiful swimming hole and a sandy beach to rest on before tackling the 18 kilometres return ride to Princeton along the scenic KVR.

Mostly good, but pretty dry on steeper corners... making skidding and erosion much more likely.

The Rail Trails are nicely cut with good flow. There was some water rutting on the steeper sections. Wet year.... Overall an enjoyable ride for most levels.
