Wallace Lake trail starts at the Wallace Falls State Park main parking lot. Note that parking can be difficult on summer weekends.
Take the Wallace Falls hiking trail until the hikers-only trial splits off to the right at about .4 miles. Continue up the former logging rail bed and single track and cross an older clear cut at 1.8 miles on single track. The trail meets the DNF road at 2.3 miles. Continue to the right, up hill on the road, enjoying the views, to mile 5.7. Take a left and head through the forest to Wallace Lake, arriving at the south outflow end at about 6.2 miles. There’s a picnic table and bridge over the outflow creek. From here, you can take the road along the west end of the lake to the north end at 6.8 miles where you can access the lake by a short foot trail. From here, there’s a relatively flat but rooty singletrack up to Jay Lake at 7.7 miles. Re-trace route back to the south end of Wallace Lake.
From the bridge, continue on the road east. There’s another road .4 miles from the bridge that climbs steeply along the east ridge side. Go as far as you want, then re-trace back to the main road. Once back down the hill, take a left. In .2 miles there is a road leading to the top of Wallace Falls. Continue on another .7 miles, you’ll intersect with the trail you took to the lake. Retrace route back to the State Park to complete the ride.
