The trail is immediately accessible at Bemis parking lot. The trail winds through a pine plantation, some old growth woods and former farm fields that are naturally being re-establish as forest as the natural succession processes occur. The trail has a few tight spots, sharp turns, and bumps and provides a bit more of a challenge. There are a few spots that are soggy in the spring or after rain. A boardwalk (installed by a local Eagle Scout) spans a perpetual wet spot. The Yellow loop is 2.7 miles long and connects to the Red (east) loop and to the Orange lollipop.
