The Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance is the local IMBA chapter, dedicated to promoting sustainable trails in the Vail area. Maintenance, construction, planning, and advocacy are the focus. Working closely with the USFS White River Holy Cross Ranger District, the VVMTA launched an "Adopt a Trail" Program in Summer 2016, raising over 40K and hiring two positions to works with hundreds of volunteers to care for over 30 local trails. We have also trained over 30 trail work crew leaders, and have led projects with GOCO and Vail Resorts. Projects for Summer 2017 include overnight trips on Cougar Ridge, trail work on sections of the North Trail and in Avon, and expansion of the Adopt a Trail Program, adding over 7 new trails.
