Very chunky trail with some punchy climbs and tight rocky switchbacks especially near the end on the way down. Consider myself to have decent tech ability and still had to walk about every third switchback. Idealview

So this is the trail that humbled me to put it mildly. You not only need serious tech skills but you better also have good cardio, especially if doing the whole loop. Portions of this thing are expert level. I almost went through new brake pads and underwear. Steps up, steps down, corners that will test everything you’ve got and it seems like it will never end! Yetman up and over to Upper Golden Gate is absolute trash currently - washed out, sandy, giant rocks, lots of veg in the trail. Golden Gate is moderately better, but almost more infuriating because it's easier to tell that it was a fun and more rideable trail at some point. Cue the Tucson old school rider chastising me for complaining. Dryview

hike Fair amount of brushing needed on the whole loop. Mud puddles in a few places. Both steep sections of trail on e&w sides could use some trail maintenance b/c lots of jumbled rocks in places. Probably could use some serious building on w side at some point after last year's heavy monsoon. Variableview

A little overgrown and loose but nothing major. Some erosion in the steeper sections but it’s black diamond for a reason. Dryview

I’m torn on trials like this. Some fun hard climbs and fun descents, but a little hard to just let loose and open it up on the down just because of how loose it is. However, it might make it too easy and sanitized to clean it up. If it doubt, keep it raw! Dryview

Hard trail, not designed to be super sustainable so lots of steep rubble-ridden lose climbs and descents. Final drop down the switchbacks is really fun, but also with some sketchy loose cobbles. Dryview
