The only way finding problem we had was at a stream crossing. When you come to a Y in the trail towards the bottom of the downhill, stay right and continue down and cross the stream bed. Trail look to go left up the hill. The trail left goes to the jet wreck. There was a few downed trees along the way, they were in the 8" to 12" diameter and easy to climb over. Overall, the trail is very rideable and easy to follow. (Other then the steep uphill climbs we had to push up. A must ride if you are into a back country adventure ride. On our ride we ran into about 10 Arizona Trail volunteers working on the trail. They were about 1 mile in from the Butterfly trail connector. They warned us of some poison ivy in the trail. It's on one of the hike-a-bike parts 1 to 2 miles in. A must ride if you are into a back country adventure ride. Beautiful views. Just be prepared for the steep 3 mile climb up the control road at the end if you are going to Summerhaven. | Dry | view | ||

They've had 3 overnight hitches since Feb and last weekend was the latest. Happy to report that trail is almost cleared. Out of the 6.5 miles, there's about .5 miles of unbrushed trail. This trail has grades as high as 55% so it is STEEP! They have cleared about 2.5 miles up top and about .5 miles at the bottom of the terrible cat claw that had grown over the decades of lack of attention. TORCA has been rehabbing it and cleared about 14 trees last October and is doing a lot of work to brush back the cat claw and address the deterioration of the last 2 miles because of grazing cattle and erosion. TORCA's hope is to have this running T2B by the October and if they get good participation of volunteers, maybe sooner. Check out orca.org and pick up some cool swag, become a member and/or come to a meeting to see how you might be able to get involved.
