Description:
Injured and can't ride and this is one of my favorite trails so decided to kill a dreary June Saturday and see what the warm May has done to the deep snowpack we had this year. I hiked up to the top of the ridge from French Cabin Basin on Saturday and there is 3-4' of snow, up to 6-8' in many places above about 4,400' in FC Basin, similar aspect to Kachess so I'm sure it's the same.
Things on ridgelines are melted out but once in the forest it gets deep fast.
The hike a bike section on the steep N Face looked to be covered in deep snow all the way up to the saddle.
Still beautiful up there!
(I saw some fresh bike tracks from the shuttle drop off point at the top of the road... interested to hear how that turned out if you read this)
