Description:
Rode this on 6/28 as part of a bikepacking route. sad to report that the winter has been rough on this trail. There are 40+ downed trees across the 16 miles. It was also too early in the summer, there were many 4+ foot deep snow sections, most problematically on the north facing bench cut sections. Between the trees, snow, and continuous super steep hike a bikes, this trail was pretty miserable. Maybe if the trees were cut and snow melted out, there would’ve been some more fun parts, but tbh even then I’m just not sure it’d be worth the suffering. For context, the 3k ascent to get here was by far the easiest and honestly most enjoyable part of the ride. I’d definitely warn against bikepacking it, the steep ascents are miserable.

I rode it today, there are only 3-4 bigger than 24" and they are placed perfectly to divide the trail into equal sized quadrants. Someone motoed in the eastern half, and rode around a lot of trees and wrecked some tread too so yay. There are only like 15-20 total now. Honestly a brushing would probably be better bang for the effort.

Do you remember where most of the trees are? And how big? Looking to start maintaining and want to know where to start.
