Oct 16, 2026 @ 9:46pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 16, 2026 | mtb {Portions of the trail are cleared by Trans-Cascadia. West terminus to siwash entrance is clear of down trees. East side is clear from 22 road to mission mountain. Unknown conditions between siwash and mission mountain. | Ideal | view
Oct 1, 2026 @ 11:44am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 1, 2026 | mtb Wowzers! Dirt could not be any better | Ideal | view
Sep 28, 2026 @ 1:07pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 28, 2026 | mtb USFS did a great job in clearing most downed trees, though the trail is pretty narrow. We cleared a few more trees to allow my forester to fit, but any vehicle larger than that will def not fit. Loyd of low branches too | Variable | view
Sep 26, 2026 @ 2:08pm (America/Vancouver) Sep 26, 2026 | mtb | Ideal | view
Sep 17, 2026 @ 9:59am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 17, 2026 | mtb A bit of blow down on the trail and quite a bit of encroaching plant life. Need to keep a sharp eye out for roots and rocks under the overgrowth due to the exposure on this trail. | Unknown | view
Sep 13, 2026 @ 8:05am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2026 | mtb Clear from sunrise to tongue! | Dry | view
Sep 13, 2026 @ 8:03am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2026 | mtb Clear but it’s a tough push. The rut makes it so you can’t walk next to your bike on the trail so you have to walk through the shrubbery on the side or roll it on one wheel standing up. | Unknown | view
Sep 13, 2026 @ 8:02am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2026 | mtb All clear and ripping | Unknown | view
Sep 9, 2026 @ 8:09pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 9, 2026 | mtb I was caught by surprise by the climb up the ridge. Knee to thigh deep ruts that caught my pedals, 8-14” ledges. A lot of walk-up spots. Amazing downhill and view. | Dry | view
Sep 9, 2026 @ 8:03pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 9, 2026 | mtb | Dry | view
Sep 8, 2026 @ 8:50am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 8, 2026 | mtb Mostly great conditions with the recent moisture. Still a bit of spongy "moto loam" that grips really well but is soft, as the fall moisture settles into the summer dust. The first steep section from the top, the moto rut was muddy with water running down it but after that the trail was in really good condition. | Variable | view
Aug 30, 2026 @ 9:54pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 30, 2026 | mtb Running great with the recent moisture! | Ideal | view
Aug 29, 2026 @ 9:35am (America/Vancouver) Aug 29, 2026 | mtb Moto rutted deeply in places, perhaps just to expected in The Giff. We also road after rain started, after dry spell, so wet + dry under = muddy and less fun. | Variable | view
Aug 26, 2026 @ 11:05am (America/Vancouver) Aug 26, 2026 | mtb Good condition for a moto trail but fairly loose, dusty and rocky for a mtb trail. Some good loamy sections but felt like there were a lot more chunky rock sections. | Dry | view
Aug 22, 2026 @ 9:07pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 22, 2026 | moto | Dry | view
Aug 22, 2026 @ 9:06pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 22, 2026 | moto | Dry | view
Aug 22, 2026 @ 9:02pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 22, 2026 | moto | Very Dry | view
Aug 22, 2026 @ 8:51pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 22, 2026 | moto One 10” log about midway through the trail. Otherwise fairly clear with some brush encroaching. | Unknown | view
Aug 22, 2026 @ 8:48pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 22, 2026 | moto Loose rock in places, what you’d expect from a primarily moto trail. | Dry | view
Aug 22, 2026 @ 8:45pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 22, 2026 | moto Babyheads. Babyheads everywhere. Very dry and loose until about 3/4 of the way up when the trail levels out. | Very Dry | view
Aug 8, 2026 @ 8:18pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 8, 2026 | mtb Very dry conditions at the moment means which means more hike-a-bike. All clear but loose and rocky. | Very Dry | view
Aug 3, 2026 @ 9:25pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 3, 2026 | mtb Council Lake to Table Mountain intersection is clear. | Dry | view

Aug 3, 2026 @ 9:22pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 3, 2026 | mtb Overgrown and deep ruts in spots. but passable. | Variable | view
Aug 3, 2026 @ 9:21pm (America/Los_Angeles) Aug 3, 2026 | mtb | Ideal | view
Jul 26, 2026 @ 6:42am (America/Los_Angeles) Jul 26, 2026 | mtb | Dry | view
Jul 26, 2026 @ 6:40am (America/Los_Angeles) Jul 26, 2026 | mtb Still in really good condition by late July moto trail standards! | Dry | view
Jul 5, 2026 @ 6:11am (America/Los_Angeles) Jul 5, 2026 | mtb I would strongly advise approaching Sunrise from the North side, even if you have to loop around on Juniper Ridge trail proper and gain more elevation. Ive pushed up a lot of rutted moto trails, this is a world class death march pushing up from the South. You've been warned. | Dry | view
Jul 4, 2026 @ 5:34pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jul 4, 2026 | mtb A somewhat fun descent off of Boundary if you enjoy Adult Stridering, because that’s basically the only way to stay upright in the super deep ruts running down this trail. Pedaling is not an option. All clear of downfall, not clear of ruts. Embrace your inner 4 year old | Dry | view
Jul 4, 2026 @ 9:15am (America/Los_Angeles) Jul 4, 2026 | mtb Recent moisture has the trail running 10/10. | Ideal | view
Jul 4, 2026 @ 9:10am (America/Los_Angeles) Jul 4, 2026 | mtb In great shape from Tongue to the North all the way to Dark Meadow. Yes, it is rough in places and yes, it is hard, and it is a moto trail, but overall the trail is worth it for the Jumbo, Juniper, and Tongue descents. Just a heads up I got a 10 minute profanity infused lecture from a moto rider over the work TC has been doing, essentially he was very upset that the trails had been "fixed" and weren't "hard" anymore. | Ideal | view
Jul 4, 2026 @ 9:07am (America/Los_Angeles) Jul 4, 2026 | mtb In great shape and ripping. Recent moisture has the dirt primo. There is some devil's club/brush starting to creep in a few spots (the trail is not brushy, just a few spots where there is some starting to creep in that may get worse as the summer wears on) but really good overall. | Ideal | view
Jun 29, 2026 @ 4:08am (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 29, 2026 | mtb From Craggy down to Lewis trail rd (upper) : Moto and MTB crew brushed, and most of tread cleaned up by collab w Trans-Cascadia and NMA crew and volunteers. | Ideal | view
Jun 29, 2026 @ 4:02am (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 29, 2026 | mtb Moto and MTB crew brushed and much of tread cleaned up by collab w Trans-Cascadia and NMA. | Ideal | view
Jun 22, 2026 @ 11:59am (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 22, 2026 | mtb NWTA and Orogenesis brushed and raked the lower half. Trail is steep fast and narrow, only a few tech sections. Not many logs down so assume top half is mostly clear | Unknown | view
Jun 14, 2026 @ 3:26pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 14, 2026 | mtb Hamilton Buttes is part of Evergreen's 2026 Dirty dozen. https://www.trailforks.com/badges/view/208865/ Come check it out. Beautiful forest, great views after the hike a bike on the uphill part of the trail. | Ideal | view
Jun 10, 2026 @ 6:13pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 10, 2026 | mtb brushed by trans cascadia | Unknown | view
Jun 6, 2026 @ 9:17pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 6, 2026 | mtb Clear and fun. Watch for some poorly cleared trees that could cause injury if not paying attention. | Unknown | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:37pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | mtb It doesn't get better | Ideal | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:37pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | mtb Super good right now riding from Ollalie to the north. | Unknown | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:35pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | mtb Trail from sunrise to dark meadow is clear. Decent from Jumbo peak to dark meadows is as good as it gets. Trail from juniper peak North to tongue mountain is great and rid8ng super well. | Ideal | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:32pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | mtb Absolutely as good as it gets thanks to tons of work done by Trans-Cascadia. | Ideal | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:31pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | mtb Clear and good to go. It is still steep but getting brushy. | Unknown | view
May 23, 2026 @ 9:36pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 23, 2026 | mtb Large tree down across trail, blocking trail | Ideal | view
Oct 24, 2025 @ 7:23am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 24, 2025 | mtb Clear of trees. A kaleidoscopic experience in terms of tread. Summer dust is gone. Good raw loam in places. Some very bad ruts in the steepest portions. Littered with large loose rock in the steep switchbacks. Watercourse issues in places. Erosion near roots and trees creating short but steep drops. Smooth, good tread at the bottom. Dark Creek and East Canyon Creek crossings were pretty low and mellow. | Variable | view
Oct 23, 2025 @ 7:29pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 23, 2025 | mtb Rode Sunrise to Dark Meadow 10/22. Descent to Jumbo saddle is a challenging narrow moto rut. Some HaB traversing to Jumbo, Jumbo flank was in better shape and rideable. Descent from Jumbo to Dark Meadow was fun, ruts manageable. Overall, a pretty harsh beating on mtb but epic views & fall colors. Seems like N Juniper has the better descent based on other comments. | Variable | view
Oct 17, 2025 @ 10:21am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 17, 2025 | mtb | Wet | view

Oct 15, 2025 @ 4:06pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 15, 2025 | mtb Rode an out and back from the north trailhead to Juniper peak. Light amount of snow starts ~4800' Frozen ground with bits of ice and rocks apparently makes for great traction as I was able to bomb through this section on the way down with ease. after that there was a small amount of mud and puddles to deal with, and then quite possibly the best dirt I have ever ridden for the rest of the descent. trail rips, would ride again (views from anywhere on Juniper ridge are also obviously amazing) | Variable | view
Oct 15, 2025 @ 3:58pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 15, 2025 | mtb Amazing dirt, some of the moto ruts had large puddles in them but other than that couldn't ask for better conditions. Some bits in the second half where there's a narrow rutt are annoying as it's quite hard to steer, but most of it is wide enough to fit rider +bike and have room to spare. Quite technically challenging at parts, wouldn't want to ride in the dry. | Variable | view
Oct 14, 2025 @ 7:11am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 14, 2025 | mtb Rode last weekend. The upper section is really steep and slightly overgrown. Lots of pushing even while “descending”. Tough undulating terrain. The trail becomes much more rideable and enjoyable after the intersection to the connector. Good descent back to the trailhead. | Unknown | view
Oct 14, 2025 @ 7:08am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 14, 2025 | mtb Rode this last weekend and it’s overall in good shape looks like someone has done work on it over there last few years. There’s some overgrown spots at the start but it’s manageable and only a few blowdowns total. Beautiful forest | Ideal | view
Oct 14, 2025 @ 7:06am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 14, 2025 | mtb As last report lots of washouts but can navigate them. The last two miles are really overgrown with small trees and branches creating a tunnel of a trail | Unknown | view

Oct 5, 2025 @ 10:33am (America/Vancouver) Oct 5, 2025 | moto Road is still closed to vehicles, but you can walk and bike past | Ideal | view
Sep 27, 2025 @ 10:01am (America/Vancouver) Sep 27, 2025 | mtb | Ideal | view
Sep 23, 2025 @ 11:40pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 23, 2025 | mtb the view at the top is amazing, but boy does it suck to push your bike up this thing. some sections where you can get above the rut and push from the side but most of it is pushing from behind in a deep and dry rut. Heading north on Juniper ridge is possibly a better option, but only because it is slightly wider (still looks like it would be pretty miserable) | Dry | view
Sep 23, 2025 @ 11:34pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 23, 2025 | mtb For a steep hike-a-bike trail, the grade isn't too bad. I imagine if it's really dry it could be pretty hard to get traction on some of the steeper bits. | Dry | view
Sep 23, 2025 @ 11:31pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 23, 2025 | mtb really nice grade, very easy to climb | Unknown | view
Sep 22, 2025 @ 1:40pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 22, 2025 | mtb Tongue is in MUCH better shape now than it was in 2022 when half the trail had a moto rut running down the middle of it. It appears the rut widened out and now the whole trail is just a foot lower or so. Very few moments of frustrating moto rut with no flow anymore, although certainly more chunky and rocky than the old glory days. Back to being a top-tier trail in the PNW, imo. Should be ideal until the snows hit. | Ideal | view
Sep 22, 2025 @ 9:56am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 22, 2025 | mtb Returned to Juniper after 3 years. It's a bit deeper and more rock-strewn than the old prime era of (for me) 2019-2021. But still SO GOOD, with several sections that are truly sublime. Note that I pushed up the downhill from Tongue to Juniper Peak and rode back down, so this report has no knowledge of the actual ridge part. But the epic DH is epic DH-ing. | Variable | view
Sep 17, 2025 @ 12:12pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 17, 2025 | mtb Recent rain and wind storm made the trail nice and tacky with a covering of fir needles. Some the roots, rocks and technical log bridges were still a little slippery, but another day of warm temperatures will dry them out. One down tree (small, but it was wedged tightly between trees so we couldn’t move. A good folding trail saw would take care it) at mile 6-7 for Curly Creek TH. The underbrush is getting thick, especially between mile 2-9. The mile 1 reroute, and some of hillside trails have been improved since 2023. Thanks | Ideal | view
Sep 13, 2025 @ 9:16pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2025 | mtb With some moisture, this trail would be better. Without it, deep moondust ruts where traction is a figment of your imagination. | Very Dry | view
Sep 13, 2025 @ 9:13pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2025 | mtb I rode this trail hoping I would find a hidden gem. I did not. Don’t make my mistake: avoid this trail. Ride literally anything else. Hamilton Buttes, Juniper/Dark Meadow, Table Mtn, are all far superior trails in the area. | Very Dry | view
Sep 13, 2025 @ 9:10pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2025 | mtb If you ride this trail in the suggested direction (east to west), be aware that most of the descent is a decommissioned road full of fun-sucking babyheads. | Very Dry | view
Aug 9, 2025 @ 6:59pm Aug 9, 2025 | mtb all brushed by Trans-Cascadia. Lots of loose rock removed. Riding great. | Dry | view
Aug 9, 2025 @ 6:59pm Aug 9, 2025 | mtb Mostly cleared by Trans-Cascadia. about a mile in the middle that has loose rock and brush. | Dry | view
Aug 4, 2025 @ 2:09pm Aug 4, 2025 | mtb Currently free of any downed trees. | Variable | view
Aug 4, 2025 @ 2:05pm Aug 4, 2025 | mtb Trees have all been cleared, not sure by who but thank you. plenty of tree debris on trail but its all rideable, and lower down where its sustained is riding terrifically. | Ideal | view
Aug 2, 2025 @ 2:45pm Aug 2, 2025 | mtb Good to go, fun trail! | Dry | view
Aug 1, 2025 @ 6:52pm Aug 1, 2025 | mtb About 15-20 blowdowns now, honestly for this type of trail and how long it is they aren't too bad as they are scattered pretty evenly. 3-4 of the blowdowns are >24", none are bigger than about 32". The biggest one is on the West end of the trail before the Cispus lookout/meadows. The trail is getting very brushy in places here and there especially near the creeks between Jackpot and Saint John Lake and on the climb up from the West terminus to the meadow. Mosquitoes are epic. The loam is sublime, as is a swim in Saint John Lake. Someone motoed in at least the Eastern/Southern half and tore up some tread, especially in steep and switchback sections. I'd like to assume they cleared some blowdowns but rode around some pretty small ones.... There are also some sections with any increased use where narrow bench tread is falling away and will probably continue to turn into sidehilling after more traffic. There is a trail running event 8/8-8/12 per the signs up today, hopefully they do some brushing pre event but the extra traffic will definitely help with brush. | Ideal | view
Aug 1, 2025 @ 4:43am Aug 1, 2025 | mtb Passable for High Clearance, maybe a Prius with precision driving. | Variable | view

Jul 30, 2025 @ 3:22pm Jul 30, 2025 | ebike Valley trail is all good on 7-26-25. A little dusty in places. Its an easy ride. Only one spot has some exposure, Roruik Ravine. | Unknown | view
Jul 30, 2025 @ 12:57pm Jul 30, 2025 | mtb I read on Facebook that the Northwest Motorcycle Association has cleared and brushed this trail on 7-26-25. I can confirm that after riding it. I would suggest that the trail organization listed for this trail be changed from WTA to NMA. | Dry | view
Jul 21, 2025 @ 7:54am Jul 21, 2025 | mtb | Dry | view
Jul 21, 2025 @ 7:52am Jul 21, 2025 | mtb All clear thanks to the Trans-Cascadia crew! | Ideal | view

Jul 12, 2025 @ 10:36pm Jul 12, 2025 | mtb dry, loose made this a little rougher than last rode it, a great trail just probably best with a little more moisture come fall. still great trip and views on the hike a bike juniper ridge are great | Dry | view

Jul 6, 2025 @ 10:29pm Jul 6, 2025 | mtb road north end as OAB with tongue mountain, typical push with tons of mosquitos to summit but great trip back down | Ideal | view
Jul 4, 2025 @ 11:37am Jul 4, 2025 | mtb Overgrown after mile 3.5 | Variable | view
Jul 2, 2025 @ 8:46am Jul 2, 2025 | mtb Very ideal conditions. Road is good to get there but narrows into little to no parking or turn around but I made it in my fwd high roof van. Road is very smooth driving until right before trailhead. Mountain biked the trail really nothing impassable, mostly smooth rolling. Bring long sleeves gloves as some brushing is needed in places. | Ideal | view
Jun 30, 2025 @ 11:54am Jun 30, 2025 | mtb Did this 6/29/25, as in last report, some snow but could ride past much of it. A week prior would’ve been a different story. Steep but short. Tbh this seems to me the best way up to the butte, as the uphill otherwise is moto driven hike a bike | Snow Covered | view
Jun 30, 2025 @ 11:51am Jun 30, 2025 | mtb On 6/28, I hiked bike up from the north end up 1000ft to elk peak. No downed trees but it was very steep, not rideable uphill. That being said, the view at the peak and descent down towards Adams was awesome, worth the push imo. Only a couple downed trees in one section. | Ideal | view
Jun 30, 2025 @ 11:39am Jun 30, 2025 | mtb Rode this on 6/28 as part of a bikepacking route. sad to report that the winter has been rough on this trail. There are 40+ downed trees across the 16 miles. It was also too early in the summer, there were many 4+ foot deep snow sections, most problematically on the north facing bench cut sections. Between the trees, snow, and continuous super steep hike a bikes, this trail was pretty miserable. Maybe if the trees were cut and snow melted out, there would’ve been some more fun parts, but tbh even then I’m just not sure it’d be worth the suffering. For context, the 3k ascent to get here was by far the easiest and honestly most enjoyable part of the ride. I’d definitely warn against bikepacking it, the steep ascents are miserable. | Snow Covered | view
Jun 15, 2025 @ 7:53pm Jun 15, 2025 | mtb Clear of blowdown from rock quarry (mile 5.5 on trailforks) to NF 90. Bottom 3 miles of trail could use some brushing. | Ideal | view
Jun 14, 2025 @ 12:32pm Jun 14, 2025 | mtb Cleared of all major blowdown | Ideal | view
Jun 10, 2025 @ 7:40pm Jun 10, 2025 | mtb The trail is in great shape from Elk Peak to FSR21. 2 trees down in the same spot so there is one dismount. All clear other than that | Ideal | view
Jun 8, 2025 @ 7:10pm Jun 8, 2025 | mtb Rode the bottom 6 miles, no blowdowns, a little overgrown in places, otherwise good condition. Beautiful trail for hot day | Variable | view
May 12, 2025 @ 8:50am May 12, 2025 | mtb Rode 5/11. Fair number of blowdowns and washouts in the section between the middle falls parking area and upper Lewis Falls. All are easily passable, but makes for slower than expected riding. Also felt like more than the listed climbing in the upriver direction. Trail was beautiful! | Variable | view
Sep 29, 2024 @ 11:43am Sep 29, 2024 | mtb | Ideal | view
Sep 25, 2024 @ 5:28pm Sep 25, 2024 | mtb Rode 9/24/24 and cleared the couple small trees down. Good to go except one medium blowdown to saw back further at the bottom. | Dry | view
Sep 25, 2024 @ 5:26pm Sep 25, 2024 | mtb Rode up to Pompey Peak from the Klickitat junction on 9/24/2024. The tread is in great shape and the first mile or two I've got cleared of blowdowns. (From east) However it is a little brushy at times throughout and there are 10-20 larger blow downs that need a saw between miles 2 and 3.25ish (from east). Plus, there are two spots on the ridge where two mature trees fell so it needs a little bunch work but you can ride around it. Below the turn off for Pompey Peak I assume more of the same. Probably 10-30 blowdowns per mile but could be better or could be worse! | Dry | view
Sep 25, 2024 @ 2:54pm Sep 25, 2024 | mtb Active logging including weekends. Currently closed. | Unknown | view

Sep 23, 2024 @ 11:59am Sep 23, 2024 | mtb Access route does the trick, about 1/4 ish is hike-a-bike on vague trail, but currently cut out and gets you where you want to be w relatively little fuss. Thanks for the work! | Unknown | view

Aug 5, 2024 @ 1:30pm Aug 5, 2024 | ebike Very much a rutted moto trail full of baby head rocks since the motos and water team up to erode away all the soil. Lots of gnarly exposed roots. Mostly hike a bike up, even with an eBike. But a great view off the top (leave your bike at the last intersection and hike the 1/4-1/2 mile to the summit). A fun ride back down. All of the gnarly roots and rocks are rideable on the way down and make for some spicy fun. | Dry | view

Jul 29, 2024 @ 4:50pm Jul 29, 2024 | mtb Back for our 3rd year, Orogenesis Collective cleared the hard to access middle section of trail by St John Lake. Trail is riding great and a lot of fun. There are a few places where large logs/branches have been purposefully placed in the center of the ruts parallel to the trail that can be really dangerous on the descent if you're riding at high speed and catch a wheel in there so be alert and look down trail, when climbing these would be pretty obvious but can be blind in a few spots when descending. | Dry | view

Sep 14, 2022 @ 2:01am Sep 14, 2022 | mtb On Labor Day I rode Juniper N to S, down Dark Meadow, up NF2324 and Sunrise, and back N on Juniper. First climb was fine. First descent was rocky and loose in a few places, a bit sketchy but fully rideable. I guess the climb up the button in the middle is Devil's Staircase. It sucked to HAB up with deep silt and big rocks kicked loose by Motos. Dropping off that on the other side was steep and silty but not as steep and not as many loose rocks. Not much fun due to the silt but not scary. The final long climb and descent to Dark Meadow were ok. Heading back south from Sunrise the Devil's Staircase was super gnarly. I'd say downright dangerous in fact and not rideable for most riders. The deep silt and steepness down the moto rut meant you couldn't steer or stop. And that's a problem when the Motos have kicked loose tons of rocks of all sizes that are sitting there waiting for you. You can't even see the small/medium ones and they can shoot you off the line unpredictably. The big ones are unavoidable. I'm used to riding steep loose trails and this was a whole new level of scary for me. Ended up walking most of this section. The rest of the trail was fine. I'm sure this trail is better after rain but til that comes I'd avoid it. | Very Dry | view
Sep 14, 2022 @ 1:41am Sep 14, 2022 | mtb Rode this a week ago. The mile long section between the high point and High Bridge Trail is completely moto-f*cked. Deep silt in the rut with large rocks kicked loose. Once you're in the moto rut you can't steer and you definitely can't stop, and it's imoossible to stay out of it or steer up on the banks. That makes the loose rocks a big problem. I'm used to riding steep loose gnarly trails and I had to hike down most of this section. It gets a bit better after that but still a few steep sketchy sections that were not fun. Near the bottom there is a large section of blow down. Motos have blazed a trail around it but you'll probably need to get off the bike there. I'm sure this trail would be better after a rain but right now it's super frustrating to ride. | Very Dry | view

Aug 22, 2022 @ 4:28pm Aug 22, 2022 | mtb The motos giveth and the motos taketh away. Unfortunately, this trail—which used to be one of the best descents in the entire PNW—has been trenched out pretty badly this year. Still fun, but it more in a "making it through a gully full of rocks" way than a "railing unbelievable, narrow moto-made flow trails" way. I have faith that it'll get fixed somehow, but might take either a lot more motos or a lot of people with shovels to knock out that trench! | Dry | view
Aug 22, 2022 @ 9:26am Aug 22, 2022 | mtb Juniper is running at about normal, the main descent to Tongue is still in perfect shape. Devil's Staircase has devolved a bit more than in years past but is still rideable. Otherwise, things are how they are. | Very Dry | view |
