This is a 9-mile loop starting and ending at the Borrego Bear Wallow Trailhead on Hyde Park Road. It can be ridden in either direction, but most enjoyable to ride down Bear Wallow to Winsor, up Winsor to FR102, then up FR102 to the crossover to Lower Big Tesuque, down Lower Big Tesuque to Winsor and then climb back to the Borrego Bear Wallow Trailhead via the Borrego Trail.
For a change of pace, make a right at the first intersection and go down Borrego at the beginning and then up Bear Wallow to finish the ride.
Detailed Description
Figure Eight is a 9 mile popular intermediate route located near Santa Fe New Mexico. This mountain bike primary route can be used both directions and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 2 trails. This route climbs 2,120 ft with a max elevation of 9,651 ft then descends -2,120 ft.
