Smooth, flowy beginner trail with some berms, and bridge crossings. Definitely recommend stopping by at Island Lake Lodge for food and drink before taking the same route back down with the assistance of gravity.

From town:
This is a bi-directional route best started at the entrance gate to Island Lake Lodge shortly after leaving the Mt. Fernie Provincial Park Camp Grounds. Look out for the trail head on right

It's a steady climb for 7km all the way to Island Lake Lodge. Be wary of downhill oncoming traffic, both on bike and foot, and always be vocal to make other users and wildlife aware of your presence.

Lower portion of the loop to the viewpoint is closed for maintenance. But the view is well work taking the slightly longer route. (I'm not sure why trail forks doesn't show the loop.)
