This route goes over all the passes & saddles in the McDowell Mtns. including all 3 trails to Tom's Thumb! These trails are rugged, loose and steep in sections. You WILL Hike-a-bike. This is an all day ride and no water is available on route. Plan accordingly. This route is only recommended during the cooler months, preferably Nov. - Feb.

McDowell Madness is a 47 mile popular extreme route located near Scottsdale Arizona. This mountain bike only route can be used both directions and has a extreme overall physical rating. This route includes 14 trails. This route climbs 9,391 ft with a max elevation of 3,795 ft then descends -9,389 ft.
