This is a double loop that serves up 2 of the best expert downhill trails in Moab. The first leg of the loop is a perfect warm up to a weekend in Moab, by testing your skill and legs up parts of the Cliffhanger jeep trail and the Hymasa singletrack. The downhill on Captain Ahab is fast and difficult, but not as difficult as some of the other trails in the area, so it is a great DH to start out on. This loop alone is a perfect after work ride, or a ride to do when you've spent the day driving, and want to kick off the weekend on a Friday night.
The second leg of this loop is includes more DH fun, with a few truly insidious sections of trail. Incredible views are everywhere as the trail often rolls along the ragged edge. There is a middle section of this trail that is difficult to clean, keep your feet on the pedals as you navigate some tight turns.
The route is so popular with local riders there is a cool bike shop near the trail head named after it.
