Jul 4, 2026 @ 9:15am (America/Los_Angeles) 14 mins | Recent moisture has the trail running 10/10. | Ideal | view
Jul 4, 2026 @ 9:10am (America/Los_Angeles) 19 mins | In great shape from Tongue to the North all the way to Dark Meadow. Yes, it is rough in places and yes, it is hard, and it is a moto trail, but overall the trail is worth it for the Jumbo, Juniper, and Tongue descents. Just a heads up I got a 10 minute profanity infused lecture from a moto rider over the work TC has been doing, essentially he was very upset that the trails had been "fixed" and weren't "hard" anymore. | Ideal | view
Jul 4, 2026 @ 9:07am (America/Los_Angeles) 22 mins | In great shape and ripping. Recent moisture has the dirt primo. There is some devil's club/brush starting to creep in a few spots (the trail is not brushy, just a few spots where there is some starting to creep in that may get worse as the summer wears on) but really good overall. | Ideal | view
Jun 10, 2026 @ 6:13pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 10, 2026 | brushed by trans cascadia | Unknown | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:35pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | Trail from sunrise to dark meadow is clear. Decent from Jumbo peak to dark meadows is as good as it gets. Trail from juniper peak North to tongue mountain is great and rid8ng super well. | Ideal | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:32pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | Absolutely as good as it gets thanks to tons of work done by Trans-Cascadia. | Ideal | view
May 29, 2026 @ 8:31pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 29, 2026 | Clear and good to go. It is still steep but getting brushy. | Unknown | view
Oct 24, 2025 @ 7:23am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 24, 2025 | Clear of trees. A kaleidoscopic experience in terms of tread. Summer dust is gone. Good raw loam in places. Some very bad ruts in the steepest portions. Littered with large loose rock in the steep switchbacks. Watercourse issues in places. Erosion near roots and trees creating short but steep drops. Smooth, good tread at the bottom. Dark Creek and East Canyon Creek crossings were pretty low and mellow. | Variable | view
Oct 23, 2025 @ 7:29pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 23, 2025 | Rode Sunrise to Dark Meadow 10/22. Descent to Jumbo saddle is a challenging narrow moto rut. Some HaB traversing to Jumbo, Jumbo flank was in better shape and rideable. Descent from Jumbo to Dark Meadow was fun, ruts manageable. Overall, a pretty harsh beating on mtb but epic views & fall colors. Seems like N Juniper has the better descent based on other comments. | Variable | view
Oct 15, 2025 @ 4:06pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 15, 2025 | Rode an out and back from the north trailhead to Juniper peak. Light amount of snow starts ~4800' Frozen ground with bits of ice and rocks apparently makes for great traction as I was able to bomb through this section on the way down with ease. after that there was a small amount of mud and puddles to deal with, and then quite possibly the best dirt I have ever ridden for the rest of the descent. trail rips, would ride again (views from anywhere on Juniper ridge are also obviously amazing) | Variable | view
Oct 15, 2025 @ 3:58pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 15, 2025 | Amazing dirt, some of the moto ruts had large puddles in them but other than that couldn't ask for better conditions. Some bits in the second half where there's a narrow rutt are annoying as it's quite hard to steer, but most of it is wide enough to fit rider +bike and have room to spare. Quite technically challenging at parts, wouldn't want to ride in the dry. | Variable | view
Sep 23, 2025 @ 11:40pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 23, 2025 | the view at the top is amazing, but boy does it suck to push your bike up this thing. some sections where you can get above the rut and push from the side but most of it is pushing from behind in a deep and dry rut. Heading north on Juniper ridge is possibly a better option, but only because it is slightly wider (still looks like it would be pretty miserable) | Dry | view
Sep 23, 2025 @ 11:34pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 23, 2025 | For a steep hike-a-bike trail, the grade isn't too bad. I imagine if it's really dry it could be pretty hard to get traction on some of the steeper bits. | Dry | view
Sep 22, 2025 @ 1:40pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 22, 2025 | Tongue is in MUCH better shape now than it was in 2022 when half the trail had a moto rut running down the middle of it. It appears the rut widened out and now the whole trail is just a foot lower or so. Very few moments of frustrating moto rut with no flow anymore, although certainly more chunky and rocky than the old glory days. Back to being a top-tier trail in the PNW, imo. Should be ideal until the snows hit. | Ideal | view
Sep 22, 2025 @ 9:56am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 22, 2025 | Returned to Juniper after 3 years. It's a bit deeper and more rock-strewn than the old prime era of (for me) 2019-2021. But still SO GOOD, with several sections that are truly sublime. Note that I pushed up the downhill from Tongue to Juniper Peak and rode back down, so this report has no knowledge of the actual ridge part. But the epic DH is epic DH-ing. | Variable | view
Jul 12, 2025 @ 10:36pm Jul 12, 2025 | dry, loose made this a little rougher than last rode it, a great trail just probably best with a little more moisture come fall. still great trip and views on the hike a bike juniper ridge are great | Dry | view
Jul 6, 2025 @ 10:29pm Jul 6, 2025 | road north end as OAB with tongue mountain, typical push with tons of mosquitos to summit but great trip back down | Ideal | view
Aug 1, 2024 @ 11:43am Aug 1, 2024 | Washed out and blocked from both ends. Still fairly smooth to pedal | Dry | view
Jul 29, 2024 @ 1:14pm Jul 29, 2024 | All clear. Watch out for the washout at the bottom in the middle of a fast flow section | Dry | view
Jul 21, 2024 @ 9:57am Jul 21, 2024 | Just removing the closed status from last year's fire, no indication of trail condition. | Unknown | view
Jun 15, 2024 @ 7:29am Jun 15, 2024 | I rode from the north end as an out and back to juniper peak. You reach snow towards the final push to the top but can use the moto track that goes straight up the ridge if you’re determined. No trees were down and it’s riding very well | Dry | view
Jun 15, 2024 @ 7:24am Jun 15, 2024 | Lots of loose rocks and some devil’s club hanging in the trail but it’s all clear. | Dry | view
Oct 22, 2023 @ 8:26am Oct 22, 2023 | Ideal | view
Oct 22, 2023 @ 8:25am Oct 22, 2023 | Ideal | view
Sep 16, 2023 @ 9:26pm Sep 16, 2023 | Dry | view |
