A brutal climb out of the Mt. Erie Road parking lot. It sees a LOT of hiking traffic. The section between 225 and the bottom is steep, gravelly, and continuous, making it hard to stop for oncoming traffic when descending. It'd be best to park somewhere else and use this as a climbing trail from Heart Lake into the Whistle Lake network rather than descending from 225 down.

At the top, park your bike and hike up to the sugarloaf viewpoint for a great view of the San Juan Islands.
