Bear Grass is Schweitzer Mountains main blue top to bottom trail within their lift served trail system. Bear Grass is accessed from the top portion of Highpoint trail and is 4 miles long. This trail is somewhat rocky at the top and works it's way down to better dirt on the lower half. There are some optional jumps near the bottom of this trail as well as numerous spur trails including Rock Garden, Jumpy's, Stumpy's and Squirrel Master.

Access Info

This downhill only trail is accessed off the top portion of the Highpoint trail near the Schweitzer Mountain Resort snow-making pond.

      Had a great time riding bear grass. if its rough, its cause you need to go faster.

      A rocky, dusty hellscape intended to make you wish you’d driven to Whitefish. Terribly maintained.

      8/18/17: Rough and Rocky. I was on a Fuel EX plus and had to keep the speed low due to the pits and rocks. Many switchbacks and only one stretch of small jumps. All the crew were very courteous though. Do not take a hardtail here.
