This route is the coup de grace of the Little Sand Creek Basin and Schweitzer Mountain Resort series of trails. This awesome alpine single track trail will reward you with beautiful views and huckleberries (mid July thru August). In season and during Schweitzer's operating hours enjoy a cold beverage, great food and awesome views at the Sky House restaurant before or after your trail ride.

Sections High Point are maintained by three different trails groups: Schweitzer Mountain resort (top 1/2 mile), Pend Oreille Pedalers (next 1.5 miles) and the Selkirk Recreation District (bottom 2 miles). Show your support for local trails by donating to or joining the Pend Oreille Pedalers.

Access Info

Highpoint trail has 3 main access points. From the top of Schweitzer Mountain Resort you will find the trail head just to the south of Sky House. The bottom of the Highpoint trail is accessed off of Blizzard Road on Schweitzer Mountain. There is a third access point at the middle of the trail through the Spires sub division. The Spires is a gated community and not open to car traffic but this access point is a drop off for the Selkirk Recreation District Shuttle.
