Official mostly natural-tread (dirt with a short road liaison) trail. Open to hikers, bikers, trail runners and equestrians, unlike the nearby pedestrian-only Powder House and Section 36 trails, making it unique among trails in the Peavy Arboretum area.
The trail has a mix of character. The trail begins at the end of Dave's with a rolling section that transfers down to a short segment on old forest road. The trail resumes just to the northeast with a climbing section back up onto the ridge, cresting as it crosses Road 560. The next section is a long descent with a mix of flat-to-outsloped long swoop corners and faster sidehill sections with several optional jumps with takeoffs built out of dirt-packed cut-off stumps. The trail crosses Road 543 twice and resumes on a newly-adopted and modified unauthorized trail (known as TNT), characterized by close-in vegetation and tight short turns. Finally it opens up onto a nearly-straight rocky section of old abandoned road bed, ending at Road 540 just to the west of Calloway Creek trail.
Combined with Dave's and Vineyard mountain, this trail provides multiuse trail access between Peavy Arboretum and Lewisburg Saddle. Nearly all of that is natural-tread (dirt) single track trail.
OSU has officially marked this trail as not to be ridden when travel on the trail disturbs the trail tread.
