The section from Hoodoo Pass Traverse up to Hoodoo Pass is worth doing as an out-and-back if you're doing the classic Angel's Staircase Loop and hungry for just a little more alpine landscape, climbing and fast descending. The upper 1/2 mile below Hoodoo Pass is steep and engaging. Below that the trail rides fast and fun with a smattering of flow and tech. Views of the Boiling Lake basin on the descent are phenomenal. This trail does see a lot of stock traffic, so expect areas of deeply incised tread that make climbing a bit more challenging. However, the tread wear here isn't as bad as other MTB allowed trails in this zone (Merchant's Basin, Summit Trail). Worth checking out if you've still got a few matches to burn. Haven't done the section out to Chipmunk Pass, so can't speak to that.
