Gateway climb to many of Pisgah's great trails The beginning from the parking lot is the steepest part. There is also another short up towards the top before reaching Black Mountain / Buckhorn intersection. This is a wide gravel road all the way to the top. There is one short saddle decent near the middle after FS5099 (Also know as Maxwell cove) while climbing.
