This trail is the second of two Gateway Trails in the Swift Creek Trail System. These trails are designed for beginners and are accessible for hand cycles. The trail bed is firm and wide with gentle rollers, and berms. About half way round there's a fun jump between two trees for more experienced riders. This trail is ideal for young families and beginners. It is also great fun to ride at pace. This trail is directional, counter-clockwise. This trail was designed to be part of the first phase of trails in the Swift Creek area. This trail is a handcycle trail and part of 7 miles of handcycle trail.
Access the trail from the Loop Forest Trail parking lot at 3298 Courthouse Road (annual pass required) by following Loop Forest Trail to the trailhead on your right. The trail can also be accessed from the Swift Creek Boat Ramp area by crossing the bridge, bearing right on the Forest Exploration Trail and then right again on Loop Forest Trail which you follow for about a mile until you reach the trailhead on your left.
