Trail is mostly a dried creek bed. Creek bed is full of large rocks and boulders that if you pick the right line, you can navigate through the trail. Creek bed is also full of beautiful smooth river bed rock, this makes it fun to navigate through. Very sandy and lose in some areas. If you're taking this as a premature exit from Horse with No Name the first little bit is HAB periodically. Once you get about 1/3 of the way into the trail going south you will run into some jeep trails and you can ride the rest of the trail out to Forest Road 1356 Trail is 30%-40% HAB. There is great potential for this to become a fantastic technical trail in the future

I named this trail Hope is Lost because I was attempting Horse with No Name and was running low on water, so i was quickly losing hope of finishing the trail.

Access Info

If on Forest Road 1356 turn left at the tank (watering hole), and follow the jeep trail/creek bed.

If your coming off of Horse with No Name turn left and follow the creek bed going south.

Very difficult trail. All cell service will be lost in the canyon!!

If you have a high-clearance off-road vehicle or a horse, do yourself a favor and bring that rather than your bike. If you don't, stay away from this trail as it's pretty much a Jeep trail and definitely not a mountain biking trail.
