Starts out with some steep hiking trail style switchbacks, but mellows out as it gets higher. From Ronald this is the most direct climbing route to get to Brass Monkey. If riding from Roslyn the easiest and most used climbing trail to the top of the ridge is Ewok.

If starting in Roslyn ride the Coal Mine Trail from West until it ends in Ronald, then hang a right. If driving to Ronald, take a right on a gravel road after the General Store. There is enough parking for 6 vehicles at the intersection of the Coal Mine Trail. Once you get close to the water towers, hang a left on a dirt road, and the trail will be in a small clearing to your right, near some mining debris. Do not park at the bottom of the trail. You can park at the Coal Mine Trail kiosk if there is space, or in Ronald (being respectful of the resident's space).
