Named after Harry J. Nettleton, the research forests manager from 1949 to 1959, this is a wide high-traffic gravel road that starts at the Lewisburg Saddle on Sulfur Springs Rd and runs eastward to a four-way intersection high above the Peavy Arboretum. This is the upper of two roads that split at the saddle and meet again at that intersection, the other being Davies Road. The combination of them makes a nice gravel riding loop that can be done year-round.
Nettleton is a steady uphill climb to the end of Vineyard Mountain trail as you head east, after which it descends past the crossing of Dave's trail to the four-way intersection.
Access Info
You will most likely access this road directly from Lewisburg Saddle on Sulfur Springs Rd, or perhaps from its other end where it again intersects the Davies and Beuter roads.
