Old Live Oak is an alternative to the bottom of Live Oak but is slower and less flowy. The main reason to take Old Live Oak instead is for the The Chute, a challenging, steep, narrow rock chute not for the faint of heart. Otherwise, Upper dead ends into Old Live Oak and many people either descend from Upper down to Middle via this trail, or hike-a-bike up to Live Oak.
