Quail loop is the easiest trail in Hempstead Harbor Woods although it's not that easy due to the hills, roots and rocks. This trail is a one way one mile long loop that will bring you back to where you started. It is sandy in spots and it will be slippery when wet due to clay. It is shared with hikers and runners so if your coming up to another trail user master the art of the pass: slow down, communicate a plan, pass safely and say thanks Use a bell or call out around blind turns. Easier trails are located in Bethpage, Trail View or Caumsett State Parks.
Parking is along the left side of the chain link fence, do not go into the flying field area as this is off limits. Do not block the trail entrance with your car.
Ride these trails at your own risk! Hidden hazards may exist.
