Saddleback road is the main access road to get out to Chimney Rock trail when ridden in the clockwise direction. It also provides access to the Saddleback lookout and the top of the Cal-Ida trail. Not a technical climb but a long one.

        This section of saddleback begins easy and gradually gets steeper for a fair portion of the climb. Nothing too wild though and it does have some flatter sections mixed in. It eventually has a grade reversal and a gently descent before the next segment. Mostly under tree cover and in good shape. This part can by driven in most vehicles.
