    Salmon-Challis National Forest

This non-motorized trail is approximately 2.21 miles long and extends from the Ridge Road 60020 down to West Fork Iron Creek Road 60046. It starts at an elevation of about 8,700 feet and descends down to about 7,520 feet. The trail goes through a heavily burned area that burned in about 2010 in the Salt Fire. There are many burned dead trees standing along the trail waiting to fall. Call the Salmon-Challis National Forest to find out when the trail was last maintained before you plan to venture out on it. This ride can also be extended by heading down the West Fork Iron Creek Road and then down the Old Indian Trail 246 which bottoms out in the North Fork Iron Creek at about 6,000 feet.

This trail is best ridden downhill as there would be quite a bit of hike a bike going uphill.

Access Info

Access to the top is via the Ridge Road 60020. Access to the bottom is via the West Fork of Iron Creek Road 60046. Both are very rough roads.
