Stonecoal is a classic singletrack trail on Cheat Mountain, winding through high-elevation forests of Birch, Spruce, and Maple trees. Its blue rating comes from its remote location, narrow corridor, rolling hills, and challenging root sections, although it is rather tame. The trail reaches an elevation of nearly 4,200 feet, with about 650 feet of elevation change. While it is a bi-directional trail, it is most commonly used as a descent from Forest Road 92 to Shavers Fork Road (FR 209).
