The “Tsenelle” trail (which means caterpillar in the local dialect) starts at an altitude of 2,456m from the top of the La Chaux-Express ski lift. The route gently descends for 1.7km down a fun, smooth trail to La Chaux with breathtaking views of the Combins massif, Mont-Fort, and even Mont-Blanc in the distance. It offers new features, including rest areas, educational areas highlighting the riches of the surrounding environment (mountain pastures, protected wetlands and traditional shepherd huts known as “îtres”), artistic rip-rap, wooden sculptures and two bridges so unique they are bound to attract attention.
