The upper section of Ono offers adventurous trail users an alternative way down from the summit of Mule Mountain. This trail was completed by Redding Trail Alliance in 2026 using funds from Shimano Trail Born and the Foundation for America's Public Lands. Built by hand, featuring multiple descending corners, rock gardens and short rock rolls, this trail offers up an opportunity for mountain bikers to progress in their technical riding ability before moving onto the more challenging "Double Black Diamond" lower section of Ono.
