Scenic stops all along the way and highly recommended for that reason. However, I would only recommend a west-to-east travel direction since the difficulty level would be in the realm of Black Diamond in the opposite direction. Even with the gradient being mostly downhill traveling from west to east, the trail still presents a lot of punchy and sustained climbs with plenty of root and rock obstacles along those climb sections. Therefore, the recommended approach is via the Powderface Trail east to west and connect via the Trail Creek Trail and Powderface Trail headed north. | Variable | view | |||

No deadfall, mostly dry and in ideal condition. Trail surface on the east side of the high point in super condition and mostly smooth overall despite equestrian use, seems rebuilt and machine cut. Trail on the west side of the high point not quite in as good condition but still highly navigable. Hardest point on the climb is the uphill gradient after the intersection with the Prairie Link Trail. Therefore, an e-bike is highly recommended if traveling westward beyond Prairie Link. Therefore, recommended travel direction is east to west with a return via the Prairie Creek Trail west to east. You really don’t want to do this loop in the opposite direction. Climbing Prairie Creek from east to west is more of a black diamond level of difficulty whereas climbing Powderface east to west is medium difficulty. | Variable | view | |||

A few wet spots where the creek has spilled over its banks (East of the gate), as well as where a few drainages cross the trail. These wet spots exist where the trail is predominantly gravel however, so there's no real mud to speak of. May 30, 2025 @ 8:58pm May 30, 2025 | Powderface Creek reroute and rebuild is complete. From some point last the Link (riding east to west) the trail has a completely different feel. It feels an awful lot like the rebuilt Prairie Mountain trail now. Machine built, mostly smooth, and borderline too steep to grind up on a modern enduro bike unless you're in top shape. They were allergic to building proper switchbacks - I counted exactly one. It does make for a very fast, blue flow style return ride done as an out-and-back. Still limited berms - more of a very fast downhill pump track. The eroded mess and baby heads of the past are gone. | Ideal | view |
