FR 74 follows alongside the Hassayampa river on the south side along the base of Maverick Mountain. The majority of the trail is very easy to ride, however there are some places where the lack of use makes it difficult to ride. 74 generally descends westward, which is the preferred direction to ride to avoid some very steep climbs the other direction.
